This tourist place Laussane (loh-zahn) has two parts the lake Ouchy pronounced "ooshee" with good restaurants and the Olympic museum and the 2nd is the old town. Mostly the hotels here are expensive, just few hotels are not expensive and my hubby and I are just stayed here for couple of nights. This place is steeper than its big and lots of shopping stores you name it, when I was here I was overwhelmed by climbing and there's noway to see this town without climbing but it is good for you also if you have a strong legs :) and its good for exercise, I like walking this town and the products are quite expensive like clothing and other stuff and it depends what kind of product do you buy here, well its a tourist destination lots of people here from other countries. Lausanne is a french (merci buko) :) side of Switzerland, I have seen different kind of people in here it seems like New York. My husband and I did roaming around this charming old town, we went to the Church called Evangelical Reform Church the biggest church in Switzerland its more than 300 ft. long and it belongs to the tradition of early Protestant reformer John Calvin and like its founder. Honestly, I haven't see or visit this kind of big church, I was mesmerized because its huge inside and makes me think, how much money they spent this church? how long they built the church? it's a beautiful church, has very nice and colorful stained glass and lots of chairs. My husband and I walked alot and makes me hungry, we decided to give a try in Le Bleu Lezard Restaurant, I was surprised its very popular restaurant, they have very good food and good service. On 2nd day of staying Lausanne, we ate at Cafe Romand, very popular too, lots of people inside but its kind of smoky but its alright they have good service and delicious food hmm... yum hehe. I enjoyed walking around this town alot. I hope you guys readers will visit this place someday.
