When I was with my sister in Switzerland my husband did visit me there. In my sister’s flat with our friends, my brother, my bro. in-law and my husband we had a fondue and that was really a lot fun and that was delicious but there are fondue ingredients or the cheese which is strong that I do not like. Did you ever try fondue before? It is a Swiss common dish shared on the table in a earthenware pot over small burner and the term which comes from the French fondre means melt with gender added in the prase la raclette fondue which is the grated Swiss cheese, melted and shortened into fondue. A cheese mix in the pot is kept warm as a semi-liquid sauce into which diners use forks to dip bits of food and mostly are bread and what we had that time we had bread, mushroom and some fruit and that was good. My husband is fond of fondue and he even like to have it often and for me I can have it once in a while. When we were in Switzerland, sometimes he order fondue for himself and sometimes I tried and when it is strong for me I stopped eating. There are many kinds of fondue, each made with a different blend of cheeses, wine and seasoning, mostly depending on where it is made. Most recipes we see for "traditional" Swiss style fondue are a combination of two cheeses, Gruyere and Emmenthaler. These two cheeses are combined because either cheese alone would produce either a mixture that was too sharp or too bland. The cheeses are most commonly melted in a dry white wine which helps to keep the cheese from the direct heat as it melts as well as to add flavor and what we had that time was the Gruyere cheese flavor as you can see here in the picture we were eating fondue and my husband did take a picture of us. How I wish I have a clear picture here of the fondue and perhaps when we get back in Switzerland I will take some pictures of it and it will be more fun posting here (lol). When we were there last year, perhaps my husband and I ordered fondue 6 times but mostly he was the one eating (ha-ha).
